RUTHIN based grounds maintenance and landscape construction contractor, Vale Contract Services Ltd has celebrated its 10th year in business with a luncheon presentation at Ruthin Castle on December 14. The company invited its 10 longest serving employees, who each received an award, as well as a number of local customers.
Janet Ryder, regional Assembly Member for North Wales was invited to the celebration to present the employees with their awards.
Ms Ryder said: "I would like to congratulate Vale Contract Services in reaching this 10th anniversary. It's encouraging to see local firms growing and shows that companies can develop in rural towns like Ruthin."
"I wish them every success and look forward to more celebrations as they continue to expand even further," she added.
The company originally traded as Vale Landscapes, and was formed in 1992. The limited company Vale Contract Services Ltd was established in the autumn of 1997 by Andrew Spink, the current managing director. Many of the commercial customers that the company started trading with in the very early years, still remain as customers today, including Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd.
Operating from its head office in Ruthin and regional offices around the UK, the company employs over 150 staff. The business plan for the company is planning continued growth to £10m over the next three years up to 2011, with a focus on the development of the company to be a
£15m to £20m business by 2017. In the UK landscape industry, Vale Contract Services is well established and features in the top 35 businesses of its type in the UK.
Managing director Andrew Spink said he was especially pleased that the company has developed organically as an indigenous business in North Wales into a medium sized enterprise competing nationally against many well established companies and UK / European plcs.
"As a people based company we are reliant up on the development of skills, staff training and the loyalty of our employees, and it is gratifying to be able to recognise staff for their contribution in the success that the company has achieved over the last 10 years," said Andrew.
