Description of works:

Grounds Maintenance and Arboricultural ServicesThe five-year framework agreement contract includes the maintenance of grounds, tenants gardens, play areas, car parks and hard areas in the ownership of the social housing landlord.

In addition, the contract includes the provision of an arboricultural consultancy service for some 1200 trees owned by the landlord and the carrying out of a planned and reactive arboricultural service.

Added Value Benefits and Innovation

Grounds Maintenance and Arboricultural ServicesThe contract was previously delivered by the DSO from Amber Valley Borough Council to a fairly poor standard with none of the grass collected from Sheltered or Tenants Gardens. Maintenance works concentrated mainly on grass cutting with little attention to the maintenance of shrub beds.

Many shrub areas were overgrown and required a programme of renovation pruning and replanting.

Quote from our customer:

Vale Contract Services have set the benchmark for partnering arrangements, providing added value both in terms of direct service delivery (more cut and collect for no extra cost) and partnering ethos (bulb planting thereby enhancing the neighbourhood appearance).
